Location

Sapphire Villas are situated on the south of Lefkada Island to the west of mainland Greece in the Ionian Sea between Corfu and Cephalonia. The villa overlooks the nearby islands of Kefalonia and Ithaca. It contrasts spectacular mountains with pale sandy beaches, charming unspoilt villages and a long interesting history.

Lefkda is a charming island, with its rich history, stunning mountainous with the highest peak reaching  1100 metres and pretty beach coves.  Explore with many quaint villages in the hills.  The many sporting activities include sailing, windsurfing, cycling, walking, horse riding and sightseeing or just relaxing on one of its beautiful beaches such as nearby Poros or Porto Katsiki.

Sivota, sapphire villas are located just 2.5 kilometres  5 mins. from the picturesque fishing & yachting harbour of Sivota, where you will find a quiet beach, an array of tavernas and bars serving drinks, traditional Greek food freshly caught seafood, pizzas and cordon blue dining.  Stroll along the quayside and browse the craft boutiques and supermarkets. Boat hire is available in the harbour where you can motor to our local  beach cove  Ksilokeratidi.

Beaches Choose to walk to Ksilokeratidi beach from the villa about 15 mins with a steepish climb. Or drive round to Aftelli beach 15 mins away.  Both Poros and Afteli have beach Tavernas. Vassiliki also has a good beach with sand to the west. But the most famous beach is Porto Katsiki on the west coast about 30 mins away.

Nearby  Towns Just 15 minutes to the west is Vassiliki, a larger harbour town with a newly built marina, offering a wide range of water sports, restaurants, sandy beaches and a ferry service to Kefalonia.  To the east and only 20 minutes away is the bustling town of Nidri which has many cosmopolitan restaurants, harbour and shops.  Boat trips around the island can be taken from both places.

The historic Lefkas Town can be reached in 40 minutes and is home to a magnificent harbour and marina.  The town has many shops, banks, bars, restaurants, museums and great cultural interest.
